 I found one of the best places to buy cheap used laptops - get a mac ibook for only $268. I've had a 12" iBook G4 since 2005 and it's still my favorite notebook for skimming the Net, writing letters, and even reading pdf's.
It's extraordinarily light-weight and I consider the screen the perfect size. In fact, I'm using it at this time to write this review. Given a choice between a new Asus or Dell netbook or a second user iBook G4 for a similar price, I'd take the G4 without brooding about it for a second.
It has all you need, in a bit compact machine.
This iBook G4 works just too and if you're attempting to find a good, tiny PC, this is the one for you. The only complaint I do have is that the CD-drive does not work ( but it is likely a controversy on just my machine ). It has an airport Extraordinary card, which allows access to any 802.11g / b compatible wireless network
( which most wireless networks are ). The drive is sixty gigs and the optical drive is a DVD+ / -RW drive. The WiFi capability is truly helpful and the tiny form factor is awfully pleasing to take around traveling. The battery seems to hold a charge for 2+ hours. It works beautifully for basic use ( faculty, work, reading the web, as an example. ). I have had completely no difficulty with mine, and would highly advocate this product to everyday users. I've seen two bad reviews simply because users purchased this PC with the aim to make it their "gaming" PC, and then were disappointed with the result. If you actually want to have a gaming computer, you most probably shouldn't be taking a look at portables in the initial place.
It is a great PC at a fair cost. If you just need something for work, faculty, and browsing the internet, it's perfect. I got this thing utilized one or two years back ; now, I am a sixteen year old, and my first use for computers is writing, storing my footage, and gaming. This conveyable is pretty good ( especially for the price ) for the initial two of my purposes, except for gaming, it was way, well below par. We had to purchase countless upgrades for it to even run Warcraft on top of my footage ( they take up masses of memory ). It works amazingly for basic use ( faculty, work, browsing the web, for example. ). I've had no difficulty with mine, and would highly recommend this product to everyday users.
If you actually want to have a gaming computer, you possibly should not be taking a look at PCs in the initial place. It's a great computer at a fair cost. If you just need something for work, college, and browsing the net, it's perfect. buy cheap used laptops...hurry supplies are limited.
